What is Eventus?

Eventus is a social app for discovering and hosting events. It connects people with what is happening around them — from small community meetups to big ticketed nights — and makes finding and going to things as easy as scrolling your feed.

Is Eventus free?

Yes. Downloading the app, discovering events and RSVPing to free events costs nothing. Hosting costs nothing either.

On paid tickets, a fee of 9% + $0.99 per ticket is added at checkout and paid by the person buying. Free tickets carry no fee.

Is Eventus on iPhone and Android?

Both. Get it on the App Store or Google Play. Event links also open in any web browser, so your guests can RSVP or buy a ticket without downloading anything.

Where is Eventus available?

Eventus works across the United States. We are building our local community in San Diego first, so that is where you will find the most going on right now. More cities are on the way.

Do I need an account to go to an event?

You need an Eventus account to RSVP or buy a ticket, but you do not need the app. Event links open in any browser, and you sign in with a one-time code sent by text or email.

Discovering events
4 ANSWERS
How do I find things to do?

Your feed shows events near you, ranked by what you are into, the hosts you follow and what your friends are going to. Tap View Map to see everything nearby on a map, filter by category, or search for an event, place or person.

Can I see which friends are going?

Yes. Event cards show which of your friends are going, and events your friends are going to rank higher in your feed.

What is “Make Me a Plan”?

Tell Eventus what you are in the mood for and it puts together a plan for you from the events and places around you.

Can I find happy hours?

Yes. Bars and restaurants post their weekly happy hours on Eventus, so you can see the deals near you.

Hosting events
7 ANSWERS
What kinds of events can I post?

Four kinds:

  • Free event — free RSVPs.
  • Ticketed event — sell tickets in the app and on the web.
  • Happy hour — a recurring happy hour with a weekly schedule.
  • Promote an event — already hosting somewhere else? Put it in front of people on Eventus.
What does hosting cost?

Nothing. Free events cost you nothing, and on paid tickets you keep the full price you set — the fee is added at checkout and paid by the attendee. See the host pricing.

Can I set up a weekly event once?

Yes. Make an event repeat daily, weekly or monthly, with exceptions for the dates that differ — not twelve copies of the same event.

Can co-hosts and staff help run my event?

Yes. Add co-hosts and staff, each with the roles they need. You can also bring on promoters and pay them a flat or percentage commission on the tickets they sell.

How does check-in work?

Scan tickets at the door from your phone and watch the count move in real time. Your guest list is searchable, sortable and downloadable, and you can ask guests your own questions when they RSVP.

Can I manage my events on a computer?

Yes. Sign in on the web to create and edit events, invite guests, check people in, see your audience and track earnings and payouts.

How do I get my event in front of more people?

Boost it. A boost puts your event in the promoted spots in Explore for as long as you choose, paid for with credits you buy in the app. Stop early and the unused time is refunded.

Tickets & payouts
4 ANSWERS
What is the fee on a ticket?

9% + $0.99 per paid ticket, added at checkout and paid by the attendee. It is not taken out of the host’s money. Free tickets — including a ticket a promo code brings down to $0 — carry no fee.

Can I sell presale or early bird tickets?

Yes. Ticket types include presale, early bird, standard and last call, and you can add promo codes, a waitlist and ticket transfers.

Where do my tickets go?

Into the Tickets tab in the app, and into Apple Wallet on iPhone, so they are ready at the door.

How do hosts get paid?

Ticket money goes to your bank through Stripe, our payments partner. Set up payouts once in the app, then follow earnings and payouts in the app or on the web.

Account & privacy
4 ANSWERS
Can I make my account private?

Yes. With a private account, people send a follow request and you choose who to accept.

What data does Eventus collect?

Everything we collect, why, and your choices about it are in our privacy policy.

How do I delete my account?

Follow the steps on our delete your account page, which also explains what is deleted and what is kept.

How do I reach support?

Email customersupport@eventusapp.com and a real person will get back to you.

For businesses
3 ANSWERS
Is there a business profile?

Yes. Switch to a business profile in the app’s settings. You get a profile people can follow, with every event you run on it.

What can I learn about my events?

Each event gets a report: sales and revenue, your audience, where people came from, your conversion funnel, attendance, and the regulars and inviters who bring the most people.

Can you help us set up our first event?

Yes. Email operations@eventusapp.com and we will build it with you.
